Keep in mind what is best is being faithful to Christ but recently, I had a couple family members try to make me feel guilty for being honest and doing what is best for my family. One tried to place stipulations on receiving their love. There should only be one stipulation in love; love others as Jesus loved us! My other family member tried to make me out to be cruel. This was because I don’t want to place myself in compromising scenarios by hanging out with those that are up to no good.
Typically after drama bombs, such as these, I am riddled by anxiety attacks. The regular feeling of letting everyone down yet again with the weight of the world sitting on my shoulders, but guess what? It didn’t come! I felt led by the Holy Spirit, in that moment. So give it to God, do not to sit and fret, PRAY! And I did! What is best is being faithful to Christ! I prayed right there that if I was guilty of any accusation that I could change those behaviors and be a better person for my Great and Glorious God!
Leaving the Hurt Behind
Gone was the anxiety and sleepless nights from being broken by someone who is keen on using words to harm. You see, I knew all along that the devil uses hurt people to hurt people. I never put it together that these family members were the objects of those attacks on me. I’ve just recently come to realize that the deceiver has repetitively used them, and their jealousy to hurt me and continue to keep both of us oppressed. Then I finally learned how to live out what is best is being faithful to Christ.
The recent attack didn’t pan out, I was prepared because I have the Redeemer on my side. He prevented the downturn of events of this attack. The advancement of the green eyed monster, the devil. The real difference here was not that God was with me through the attack, but that I finally gave Him control through the attack. Did I still feel the hurt? Yes. Did I feel bitter? No.
However, this time I didn’t call another family member to discuss the situation. Instead, I called on my God and let Him sort out the details. I prayed through it. Being equipped with the optimum tools (God’s Word) and procedures (prayer) will make any attack by the evil one more easily conquerable. Paul states in Ephesians 6:12, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
